Healthy Maine coon Cat raised by Pawz and Purz Maine Coons in British Columbia

Rigorous Maine Coon Health Testing & Genetic Screening

We utilize advanced genetic panels to ensure our breeding lines are free from hereditary conditions, prioritizing the long-term vitality of every kitten.

HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy)

The most common feline heart disease. We perform DNA screening on all parents to minimize the risk of cardiac issues in our lines.

SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy)

A genetic disorder affecting muscle development. Mandatory SMA testing ensures our Maine Coons maintain their robust structural integrity.

PKDef (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency)

An inherited anemia panel. All our breeding adults are cleared through DNA testing to prevent the inheritance of this deficiency.
