Raised in Our Home, Not a Kennel

When people ask what makes our kittens different, the answer isn't a fancy training program or a secret formula—it's simply the way they're raised.

At Pawz and Purz Maine Coons, every kitten is born and raised right in our home. They grow up surrounded by everyday life, hearing the sounds of a normal household, meeting new people, and learning that the world is a safe and exciting place.

From the very beginning, they're handled with love and care every single day. We spend countless hours cuddling, playing, grooming, and getting to know each kitten as an individual. It's one of the most rewarding parts of being a breeder.

As they grow, they're introduced to new experiences at a pace that's appropriate for their age. They explore different textures, toys, climbing opportunities, and everyday household activity, helping them develop into curious, confident, and well-adjusted companions.

One of my favorite parts of raising kittens is watching their personalities blossom. Some are fearless explorers who investigate everything. Others are quiet observers who prefer to watch before joining in. Some become little shadows that follow us from room to room, while others are happiest curled up in a lap for an afternoon nap. Every kitten is unique, and getting to know each one allows me to help match them with the family that's right for them.

Because we're a small, home-based cattery, every kitten receives individual attention. They aren't just another litter—they're part of our family for the time they're are with us. That extra time and attention helps build trust, confidence, and the affectionate temperaments that Maine Coons are so well known for.

When it's finally time for our kittens to go home, our goal is for them to leave not only healthy, but also feeling secure, loved, and ready for their next adventure.

There's nothing more rewarding than hearing from families weeks, months, or even years later that their kitten settled in beautifully and has become a cherished member of the family.

That has always been our goal.
